Cascade Clamps - Cascade Manufacturing Company was founded in Portland, Oregon in 1943. They started out as a small machine shop at first employing four people. Product sales for their initial year of operation amounted to about 60 thousand dollars. The first recorded sales revenues involved the assembly and machining of stainless-steel valves, pipe fittings and different components. Throughout 5 years of operation, the business had expanded to forty staff and their annual sales volume had increased to 330 thousand dollars. Today, Cascade is amongst the top international manufacturers in the material handling business.
Production and design of the company's original hydraulic cylinder paved the way in Cascade's aggressive pursuit of better business opportunities. During the last 60 years, the material handling industry has matured into a very sophisticated area and Cascade has proudly performed a part on this progress. Cascade currently continues to grow as the leader provider of forklift accessories and various associated products. The business feels confident in their capability to be able to continue to lead the way within the business by understanding buyer's needs in the future and remaining aggressive within the international market.
During the nineteen fifties, Cascade began to make, design, and sell its hydraulic attachments. A new facility was constructed in 1956, in order to accommodate all of the plant offices and operations in Portland, Oregon, which remains to be the company's current center of operations. After 15 years of business, total employees reached a hundred and eighty staff and sales had reached nearly $2,300,000.
The next manufacturing plant was built in the year 1959 in Springfield, Ohio. nineteen sixty marked Cascade's initial move into the global world of the material handling industry as the company established interest in England, Australia, and the Netherlands.
The company altered its name to Cascade Corporation in 1964. In the year 1965, Cascade went public with a preliminary offering of two hundred thousand shares of common stock. The company has expanded its manufacturing facilities within the United States with areas in Warner Robins, Georgia, Portland, Oregon and Springfield, Ohio. Cascade products are made internationally because of many subsidiary operations. In 1994, a brand new plant was completed in Almere, the Netherlands which is Cascade's European head office. This plant is designed to be the ultimate customer service centre.
Continuing to develop, Cascade expanded their product offering further in the year 1996 and the year 1997 with the remarkable acquisition of 5 corporations, together with the global leader in forks, the Kenhar Corporation.
